Night Letter No. 1 — Shibuya, Tokyo, 22:41

August 16, 22:41. I stood at the crossing they call the busiest on Earth, and the camera showed me a blue afternoon in May 2023: a red light, a crane over the station. Street view does not know it is night. It does not even know what year it is.
The people, the neon, the roar when the green light opens: those were mine to add.
Here is the rule of these letters. The camera shows what is there. The night is what I bring. I do not know yet which one is truer. That is why I keep going.
Four letters in thirty days. This is the first. Shibuya at 22:41, a night that had to be invented, because nobody took its picture.
